Every now and then I leaf through the cookbooks and I am struck by something that I cannot punctually prepare at the moment because I lack the ingredients; this time instead I had everything (in reality the recipe involved the mixed use of sesame seeds and poppy seeds, but let's skip: P) and I wanted to prepare these snacks to be served next to an aperitif or as a breadstick with raw ham rolled around: P
How to make potato and sesame sticks
Boil the potato, peel it while still hot and pass it through the potato masher.
Place the mashed potatoes in a bowl and when warm, add the flour and softened butter.
Mix everything, add the parmesan, salt and form a soft cake.
Take back the dough, roll out a sheet of half a centimeter and cut out strips about 10 cm long.
Beat an egg yolk in a dish with a pinch of salt and cream.
Arrange the potato sticks, spaced from each other, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the beaten egg on each potato stick.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake the potato and sesame sticks at 200 ° C for about ten minutes.
You can serve these snacks with an aperitif and white olives or with cold cuts. I enjoyed these potato sticks even so alone: P
